Improving the health and well-being
of people living in East Yorkshire
and Northern Lincolnshire
St. Anne’s Residence caters for ages 5 - 19 years old. All the children and young people accessing St. Anne’s have autism, communication difficulties, severe learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, profound and multiple learning difficulties and, or health needs that require intensive specialist support. There are currently 50 young people accessing the Residence across the week; 10 of whom have mobility issues. Due to having an old building they do not have through tracking and therefore rely on porta or overhead hoists that have to manually be moved into position. There is extensive wear and tear on the equipment, and whilst a Local authority provision there is no income for expensive pieces of equipment. Over the last year there has been an increase by 75% of young people with mobility issues, who are requiring additional support with the use aids.
