Improving the health and well-being
of people living in East Yorkshire
and Northern Lincolnshire

At the May 2016 meeting, Help for Health approved a £10,000 grant to the Autism Plus “Ings Project”.  This is a social enterprise in Hull, which provides training and progression for people with Autism spectrum condition (ASC), through the provision of catering to lunch-clubs.

Food plays a central role with catering providing training and employment to people with disabilities at the Ings Plus kitchen, a community centre in East Hull with an Autism specialisation.  The lunches provide a foundation upon which other activites are built.  One hundred and fifty lunches per week are provided by the Community Guardians who provide a befriending and activity service for isolated and vulnerable adults in East Hull.
