Thanks to the generous support of Help for Health and other funders, this year Teenage Cancer Trust is moving closer to our goal of reaching every young person with cancer who needs us. We have started to expand our outreach services to ensure that more young people can access our specialist support and facilities, both on and off our specialist units. We’ve also developed our unique support events, including The Way Forward, which give young people who have finished treatment the opportunity to come together to take part in informative sessions, as well as gaining vital practical, emotional and social support.
In Hull this year, we have continued to provide specialist care and support for young people with cancer through our unit at Castle Hill Hospital, and through our outreach services, and have seen a big increase in patient footfall. We have also hosted our first Way Forward Event in Yorkshire for young people who have finished their cancer treatment, which was attended by 22 young people including patients from East Yorkshire.
Despite the achievements over the past year, we still have a long way to go to ensure that all young people with cancer can access the specialist support they need. However, with your continued help and support we can achieve this goal.
Thank you again to Help for Health for your support.
