Improving the health and well-being
of people living in East Yorkshire
and Northern Lincolnshire
New Group in Snaith
Over 15,000 people in North and North East Lincolnshire, Hull and East Riding have macular disease, a devastating condition that causes people to lose their central vision, ultimately rendering them unable to read, drive or recognise faces.
At their March 2017 meeting, the Help for Health trustees granted the Macular Society £4,010.00 for the establishment of a Macular Support Group in Snaith. At the group, people people can gain reassurance, knowledge and understanding from local people with similar experiences. Group members are also offered practical support with adapting to life with macular disease, and encouraged to remain engaged with the community.
