Improving the health and well-being
of people living in East Yorkshire
and Northern Lincolnshire
At their March 2017 meeting, the Trustees of Help for Health awarded £6,000.00 to Living Paintings to be used towards the cost of providing Living Paintings “Touch to See” books. This free library service will enable 158 blind and partially sighted people living in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire to use the service for the next 12 months.
“Touch to See” books enable an understanding of the visual images that colour and inform all our lives. The books are specially designed for sharing, so that they can be used at school with other pupils, at home with family or friends and in Living Paintings’ Touch to See Book Clubs. They include tactile images that are brought to life by evocative audio recordings, and are loaned, free of charge via the post, from Living Paintings hugely varied library.
