About
Help for Health

Help for Health was established in 2002 for the relief of the sick and mentally or physically disabled within the boundaries of East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull and both North and North East Lincolnshire following the merger of The Health Scheme and Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund (BHSF). We do this by providing grants to organisations and charities that fit our criteria for support.

In 2017 Help for Health launched a new charitable fund, The Lazenby Fund, aimed at helping to support the health and well-being of people living in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Lazenby Fund’s benefactor, Lynda Emily Lazenby, was from a large philanthropic family and lived all her life in the rural villages of the East Riding.

Over the past 20 years, we have funded many projects with grants from a few hundred to almost one million pounds. This is another exciting year for the trust, with many projects and activities already supported. The trustees are committed to ensuring our name 'Help for Health' is a reality in practice. The trustees also ensure that the aims and objectives set by our founders and former Chairman and Deputy Chairman, Roger King and Keith Gorton, who sadly died in 2013, are met.

We hope you find everything you need on this site. Alternatively, contact us via our contact form, and we will endeavour to answer your questions as quickly as possible.

In November 2014 Help for Health made a donation towards support for those living with motor neurone disease (MND) in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. It affects how people walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.
